Hope & Patience

“For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:24-25. Ugh. Patience. Too many letters to be a curse word, but sometimes, just as much of a curse.
This world loves instant, immediate gratification. Remote controls, hands free everything, fast food, drive thrus, grocery stores, automation and a network of readily available information. We embrace technology yet it has spoiled us beyond recognition from our ancestors. If we don’t get it right away, we move on, fall out of love, give up and jump into other new ventures. But God asks us to be patient. Let Him lead. There is a purpose for everything and in His time it will be revealed. No sooner. There’s no fast forward button, no pause, no rewind.
Relationships are work. LIFE is work. God never said it would be easy but He did say our efforts would be rewarded. Hope in the Lord. Wait patiently for Him. The storms have their purpose.

  1. Hope I have never had a problem with, it’s always been with patience! I try to be as patient as I can be, but I will admit, having adult ADHD has really played a roll in this! I am, howver, happy to report, getting better at this “patience thing”- I can always do better, though!
